Race 2 is an upcoming Indian drama film

directed by Abbas-Mustan and produced by Guneet Monga. The film is the sequel to Race starring Saif Ali Khan, Nana Patekar, Bipasha Basu and Bobby Deol. It will release on 26 November 2016. It stars Anil Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ameesha Patel in lead roles. Anil Kapoor plays the role of Chandu Dada which was originally portrayed by Saif Ali Khan in Race 1.
This movie tells the story of a personal assistant to an underworld don who takes charge after his boss has gone missing. He begins to search for his boss amidst all the mayhem that ensues. In March 2013 it was announced that a sequel to Race will be made by the same directors, with shooting scheduled to begin in May. In late July 2014, the film's cast was announced, with Saif Ali Khan reprising his role from the previous installment. The sequel is set in Goa and will feature a new antagonist in Anil Kapoor. The film is scheduled for a 2015 release in August/September in 3D.
In early September 2014 director Rajesh Pillai has been selected to direct mixed martial arts action fight scenes for the movie.
Casting of Jacqueline Fernandez was confirmed on 3 October 2014 when producer Guneet Monga tweeted about it with a picture from the shoot. Race 2 was shot in Goa, Bangkok, Dubai and Mumbai. The trailer of the film was released on 23 October 2014. The film was released worldwide on 26 November 2016. Upon release the film received mixed to negative reviews from critics. While Shilpa Jamkhandikar from Reuters praised the movie for its action sequences, background music and cinematography she criticized the lack of content and story line in the movie stating that ""Race 2" is a pleasure-less ride that aims to titillate and leave you numb after all is said and done. There is a pleasant surprise at the end but it doesn't justify all the repetition. In a nutshell, it's a bad movie that doesn't demand repeat viewing." The film grossed approximately on its opening day in India and approximately on its second day.
